Week 10

Mum

If you’re still not excited at this point, don’t worry, it’s normal. Even if the pregnancy is planned, you may find it difficult to relate to the 3cm-long abstract person who allegedly lives in your abdomen.

Many women find themselves on an emotional roller-coaster around this time of the pregnancy. You may cry for no reason, daydream a lot, or even experience a few vacant moments when you think absolutely nothing (remember when you asked your man what he was thinking about and he replied “nothing” – now you see how it’s possible).

Dad

Do you ever reckon you may be getting a little sidelined in this whole pregnancy gig? The mother-to-be is the one on whom all the attention is focused, and she’s the one growing your baby. We all know she deserves it, and we all know there’s only so much a man can do during pregnancy. But here’s a fun fact for you: When the baby arrives, the baby will be in the limelight, so use these nine months wisely to practice playing second fiddle. Joking aside though, if feeling left out has been on your mind lately, make sure you share these thoughts with your partner and let her know you’d like to be more involved. Getting involved early and at every level is the ticket, at least according to the experts.

Baby

You are now the size of a big strawberry and have graduated from an embryo to the status of a foetus. Your kidneys, gut, brain, and liver may be kick-starting this week. Your fingers and toes are developed and you may even be growing miniature fingernails and toenails.
